Heading our Company is Matthew Clapp, Chairman and Director. Our Executive Committee comprises Glenn Weller, Jane Radford and Mandy Williams, ably assisted by our Support Team comprising Rebecca Seaton and Julie Curtis. Our fantastic team of Supervisors and Operatives are renowned for their excellent skills and work ethics – they have a wealth of experience and knowledge to provide our clients with the best possible service. We are justifiably extremely proud of them and their continuing efforts and loyalty to the Company.
Glenn Weller is our Contract manager and currently deputises as General manager. He has been with the Company since 1987, joining the senior management team in 1999. He has extensive experience in protective treatments, particularly to railway bridges, viaducts, parapets and tunnels and has many years experience of managing services to the utility and rail industries and in particular to Network Rail infrastructure. Glenn is highly experienced in his field and has a wealth of knowledge on our preparation techniques and anti-corrosion protective treatments. Over the years he has completed all necessary and relevant training and has achieved the competencies and expertise enabling him to manage our contract works. He is responsible for liaising with both clients and suppliers with the aim of achieving the best possible outcome for the client
Jane Radford is our HSQE systems manager, quality manager, environmental manager, internal auditor and IOSH manager and has been with the Company since 2006, joining the senior management team in 2011. She has extensive experience in corporate administration and has undertaken a variety of training over the years including becoming a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Secretaries, Site Management Safety Training scheme, Internal QMS Auditor, IOSH Managing Safety, IT2 presentations, IEMA Associate member, Practitioner Member of IEMA and Train the painter Trainer. Jane is responsible for composing and maintaining our policies, procedures and management systems (quality, environmental, health and safety and FORS) and ensuring compliance with the relevant standards, together with statutory and regulatory compliance. She is also responsible for ensuring compliance with our ISO 9001, ISO 14001, NHSS 19A, RISQS, UVDB, FORS, Constructionline, Acclaim, Builders profile accreditations and for the preparation of COSHH and risk assessments.
Mandy Williams is our HR manager and HSQE coordinator and joined the Company in March 2020. She has many years’ experience in various HR and health and safety roles as a consultant, compliance coordinator, officer and administrator. Mandy brings a wealth of health and safety knowledge to SMS, including qualifications in CDM Regulations 2015, manual handling, risk and regulation, whistleblowing, fire marshal and fire safety management/risk assessment, health and wellbeing at work, fire safety management, IOSH, controlling workplace hazards, health and safety practical application and GDPR. She has introduced many new systems into our processes in order to ensure HR compliance, time management, disciplinary and grievance, monitoring the health and well-being of our employees and various aspects of HR including holidays, attendance, sickness, medical appointments, public duties and compassionate leave.
Rebecca Seaton is our HSQE assistant and joined the Company in September 2021. She is involved in our accreditations, memberships, HSQE monitoring and measuring, waste management, internal audits, monthly management meetings, annual management reviews and assisting the HSQE systems manager. She is also responsible for accounts processing, sales and purchase invoice management, payroll including timesheets and recording working hours/driving time, pension administration, assisting our Contract manager and HR manager and liaising with our external accountants Thompson Reid.
Julie Curtis recently joined the Company as our Administrator. Her role is to support the managers, maintain contract and site folders/files, administer enquiries, purchasing, site records and manage communication systems. Julie is also responsible for planning our powder coating division work schedules and for the completion of various controlled records under her remit in support of our integrated management system.
