About us

SMS have been operating in our specialised field since April 1978 offering our clients a variety of services for anti-corrosion preparation and finishes, either at the clients’ infrastructure or in our own workshop facilities.  We have developed new techniques and services to ensure we provide clients with a quality service where economic and sustainability innovation goals can be reached simultaneously.

Our quality management system has been assessed to both ISO 9001 and National Highway Sector Scheme 19A and our environmental management system has been assessed to ISO 14001.

We are based in Kent but serve a wide area including London, the South East and some areas within the South West. Our objectives include completing work to programme, to budget and in accordance with the agreed requirements and contract specification.

We operate an ongoing training programme for all our employees, continuing good business practices and ensuring that safety is of paramount importance at all times.  Only qualified employees are included in the teams and specialist training is required for the specialist tasks, e.g. SMSTS, SSSTS, Sentinel PTS, PASMA, IPAF, ICorr, TTP, Water Jetting (High and Ultra High), EFAW.  Managers, supervisors, inspectors and operatives have current certificates for the allocated roles and employees are issued with all necessary high quality personal protective equipment according to the task being undertaken.

We take responsibility for the effect our operations may have on the environment and take all practicable steps to eradicate or minimise any adverse effects.  SMS do not compromise on quality or safety.
